Track Pants — First Impressions

TV-D1 Field Track Pants

By Cody, KTT Goods Co. · Published

I love these track pants. It is great to finally see TV-D1 printed on a pair of pants and complete the camo look. The zippered pockets and the quiet feel of the fabric are two details that stood out immediately.

TV-D1 in the field

The fit

The Extra Large waist fits true to size for me, with a drawstring to snug it up. The legs are slightly short on me.

The useful details

Pockets that zip closed and fabric I could not hear while moving around.

The tradeoffs

The full-length liner feels unusual at first, and the legs are slightly short on me.

TV-D1, finally on pants

It is great to finally see TV-D1 on a pair of pants. To my eye, the pattern looks slightly brighter than it does on the other TV-D1 pieces, but I am still really happy with how it completes the camo look.

How the Extra Large fits

I wore an Extra Large, and the waist fits true to size for me. There is also a drawstring I can tie if I want to snug them up.

The legs are slightly short on me. If you are tall, that is something to keep in mind. With boots, that shorter length could also make them easier to tuck in for hiking or training.

The pockets were a good surprise

The pockets zip closed, and I really like that feature. Especially for training, being able to close them gives me less to worry about when it comes to things falling out of my pockets.

A surprisingly quiet fabric

Unlike the rustle I associate with windbreakers and some track pants, I could not hear the fabric while moving around in these. That quiet feel makes me interested in trying them for hunting as well.

The full-length liner

Remember the liner in swimming trunks? Imagine that running all the way down a pair of pants. It feels a little weird at first, but I find it tolerable, and after a while I stopped noticing it.

The liner can also be easily removed if I would prefer the pants without it.

My first-impression recommendation

Overall, based on these first impressions, I would highly recommend these as hiking or range-day pants. The full-length liner and the slightly short legs are the two downsides for me, but the zippered pockets, quiet fabric, and the chance to complete the TV-D1 look leave me very happy with them.
